The church dates back to Norman times, about the eleventh century, though a church was probably here in Saxon times, a thousand years ago. It was thought to have been a stopping place on pilgrimages to Glastonbury. It has an unusual 3-sided communion rail at the altar, and still has the old box pews, containing pegs for hats when men wore hats to church.
The congregation work and worship with the local Methodists at Pawlett Chapel. A formal covenant is due to be signed in May 2018
